Great that you are interested in gay history. You know, we go back much further than the 1960’s
Two books on the subject that really helped change my view of our situation:
“Homosexuality and Civilization,” by Louis Crompton, goes back to Biblical times, Greece and Rome, and traces developments in Europe thru medieval times, the Renaissance, thru the 18th century, as well as China and Japan.
“Out of the Past,” by Neil Miller, takes up the story in the 19th century through the AIDS crisis.
I’m sorry I missed your birthday. Happy 19th, Eric! You are just incredibly awesome. Milk was, indeed an important portrayal both historically and sociologically, because it provides a cameo snapshot of the life so many fought to advance, even in the plain sight of such hatred and violence. Harvey Milk Day is important to us all, and should be remembered.

Thanks for the memories. The White night riots radicalized me as a gay youth in SF. I’ve posted a video called ‘government is war’ but much of the video is of the white night riots. (( /watch?v=Yim6T5dVNAs )) Also, our chants that night were, “Dan White is a Cop” but yes, he was a fireman, also.

Thor i wish you would do more vids. gay history is very important. Some gays dont feel connected to a community, they say gays are about nothing but sex etc… but if you discover your fascinating gay history, you just might
for instance… check out my recently faved 60’s black civil rights fight & gays involvement VIDS. If it werent for MLK’s right hand man (a gay man) the march on washington may not have happened.

@thorthewhore hehehe will do. My Principal’s a homophobic asshole, but I’m going to a different school next year… so I won’t have to put up with her anymore. I plan on sending a letter to the ruler of our schools or something and getting her fired.
