I don’t think he should risk telling schoolmates unless he’s really sure they are gay or cool about it. As he gets a bit older he can try to meet people. You seem to live in Mauritius and I don’t think gays are so accepted there (I’m in the UK). I think it might be dangerous to tell his best friend yet. If his friend rejects him and he tells people and his parents find out, it could be difficult for him. I’m glad he has confided in you and you haven’t freaked out.
